They say you can learn a lot about someone from five simple facts. Here are mine:
Favorite color: Navy Blue
Favorite food: Tacos
Favorite sport: Golf
Bonus fact: I started playing at age 5!
Occupation: Marketing – I work at an advertising agency doing a little bit of everything; Traditional Media, Social Media and Public Relations!
Favorite childhood memory: Tie between painting pottery with my mom in Cancun every March or doing cartwheels down the fairway after a STELLAR shot with my dad
Now that we got that ice breaker over with, let’s get to the nitty gritty a.k.a. the WHO, WHAT, and WHY of this blog! Like every other millennial, I love to document my life. Snap a pic here, Instagram a video there. Personally, I believe social media is a lot like scrapbooking. Before any haters leave a comment, I must preface that I love a good photo album and hanging pictures on the wall. I am a traditionalist after all. But think about it – pictures, now stamped with fun frames and emoji stickers are paired with a clever (often punny!) caption, and documented for others to capture and you to enjoy! Sound modern yet familiar? I digress…
In addition to this passion to document life is a love for content creation and writing. As an English major, I was familiar with writing short stories, essays and research papers (and lots of them!) It wasn’t until my junior year when I studied abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark that I fell in love with blogging. Studying abroad is the perfect setting for blogging – it combines adventure, traveling, new foods and cultures. The perfect ingredients for a great story.
While I absolutely love writing and developing marketing content at work, it’s different. I wanted an outlet to share my recipes, my style, my thoughts – a place to truly express myself.
And just like that, the blog was formed. This blog is not an escape from reality, but an extension of my life. I plan on writing my own content, on my own time. I promise to offer delicious recipes, traveling tips, real world #adulting lessons, some fashion advice (disclosure: all clothes may will be navy blue) and homemaking hacks for anyone who will listen.
Here’s to a new digital adventure!
