Happy Friday! Has anyone else had a strange week? Half of this week I was playing catch up, feeling like my time was flying by yet the other half seemed to drag on FORever! Needless to say I am very excited for the weekend!
A lot has happened in the last week since I last jumped on the blog. With travel plans booked every single weekend in March and a very busy April already scheduled, I spent last weekend finally emptying my mom’s storage units, checking off one more thing related to her estate.
It’s amazing how relieved I now feel and how much weight is off my shoulders after checking off just that one thing. For the last 6-7 months, we’ve traveled over an hour on the weekends to tackle these beasts, and it honestly felt prisoning. Plus losing your weekends means constantly working on improving your own home and all the growing chores after work during the week. Let’s just say it’s turned into a vicious cycle and I am SO READY to get back ahead of it and have a piece of my life back.
Nick and I barely watched TV this week, let alone “surfed the web” due to busy work schedules. However, the limited time we had for ourselves was enough to gather this week’s Friday Favorites!
ONE || The Brothers are BACK Together: I would never call myself a die hard Jonas Brothers Fan. I never had their posters on my wall and I never had the desire to go see them in concert, but I definitely liked their music and their personality enough to watch their TV show back in the day. With all that said, I love their return to the year 2019 and their new song, Sucker. I may or may not have listened to it multiples times in the car driving home from work the other day! Nick and I are late night TV show fans, and I love the ‘Year 3000’ parody that the Jonas Brothers performed with James Cordon on The Late Late Show.
TWO || Amazon Prime Navy Blue Romper: I am probably jumping the gun sharing this, but I just ordered this jumpsuit off of Amazon Prime for my upcoming trips and I couldn’t be more excited to try it on and (fingers crossed) wear it this spring and summer. It’s no secret I have a slight obsession with the color navy blue, but it’s actually the jumpsuit style that caught my eye and pulled the trigger for me. I never thought pant suits and rompers were for me, but once I found one that worked on my body type, I was sold! Best part about this jumpsuit – besides the color, the buttons and the bow – is the price tag!
THREE || 50 Cleaning Hacks for your Home: LifeHack recently posted an article, 50 Cleaning Hacks For Your Home That Will Make Your Life Easier and let me be the first one to tell you that a lot of these hacks actually do work! A few hacks that I use regularly include:
- Use vinegar and baking soda to clean your oven, as well as your dishwasher
- Use baking soda to remove oil stains (and odors!) from your carpet
- Use coarse sea salt to clean cast iron dishes
- Newspaper to dry wet shoes/sneakers
Most of the 50 hacks use household ingredients you already own, like vinegar, baking soda and lemons. Why spend money on cleaning products filled with chemicals when there are countless options that are friendlier and safer for you and your family! If you’re looking for a few more ideas, check out my blog post about keeping your home smelling fresh with these simple swaps and hacks.
FOUR || Shamrock Soda Bread: St. Patrick’s Day is around the corner and I couldn’t help but share this cute Shamrock Soda Bread recipe! The secret to making the shamrock: heart shaped cookie cutters! While Soda Bread recipes seem intimidating and difficult to make, this recipe is ready in just over one hour and is definitely going to be better than any grocery store version you purchase!
FIVE || Jack Rogers Friends and Family Sale: My classic jacks are my favorite summertime sandal and I would be crazy not to share this rare sale with you. This weekend only, Jack Rogers is offering 25% off with code LOVEMYJACKS on all shoes – from classic Jacks to cute loafers, wedges and wellies. I absolutely love my classic Jacks white/cork pair and I am looking to replace my navy blue pair, but how fun are these colorful and unique spring/summer options. I love that these are different from the classic Jack Rogers style everyone knows and loves!
